Multi-Purpose Building Dedication

We had an awesome time last Saturday dedicating our new multi-purpose building. We are very excited about using it to the Glory of God. That began on Sunday as classes met for the first time in our new building.

We continue to rejoice over Resurrection Sunday. What a bkessing to see numerous folks come to faith in Christ. Continue to pray as we get closer to our major evangelistic emphasis with Team Impact.

As you can see, steel is going up on our new multi-purpose building. Please continue to pray for the families and individuals that will be reached as we use this facility to the glory of God.

Burning and Building

It was a joy for us to witness the burning of the note from our BWB building program. We are now looking forward to meeting the goals of our Generations Campaign. We certainly acknowledge that the note burning was to the Glory of God. Below you will also notice some walls going up on our new multi-purpose building.

We are sure that you have noticed the concrete slab portion of the project has been completed. You will be seeing steel on site in the near future. The last pic is Lamar dropping some dirt from Israel at about center court.

It's a Slab

What you see below is the first day of concrete being poured for the slab of our new multi-purpose building. Most of the work on the floor should be done this week. Check back!

Roughing & Rebar

As you will note in the pics below, we have seen some plumbing and electrical roughed in this week. You will also notice that some rebar grids have been laid. Keep checking back. On September 27, we will receive a construction update and a "walk through" of the construction site.

Work Has Begun

We will use this blog in the coming weeks and months to keep you updated on the progress of our new multi-purpose building. This week primarily involved moving dirt around, but THE WORK HAS BEGUN. As you will note in the first picture, a new sidewalk was poured to make access easier from the Education Building to the Worship Center.

Generations...A Lasting Legacy

From Our Pastor

In the past 14 1/2 years which I have served here at First Baptist Church, I have never been as excited and challenged as I am about the opportunity which I believe that God has placed before us today. Now because of God's power and faithfulness, we have a chance to do something that will last for generations to come. That's why we are calling this new faith-building campaign GENERATIONS. Check out the video below.

Take a deep look into the eyes of our children and grandchildren, and you'll realize that tomorrow is at stake. I've heard it stated, "Whoever wants the next generation the most will get them." The hope of future generations rests on us today. That's why we believe it is God's vision for us to build this multi-purpose building. It is a building that will reach out to all generations.

This phase in the life of our church is more than building a new building. It is investing in a lasting legacy that will continue long beyond our lifetime. Our generation touching tomorrow's generation...truly a God thing! I love you, and I thank God for the privilege of serving here with you and joining with you in this campaign. --Lamar
